Walleye Wisdom reader Dan Krauth, proprietor of Crazy Minnow in Clear Lake, Iowa provided us with this amazing fishing report:
Pictured is Robert Wagner of Ventura holding a very large musky he caught out of Clear Lake Wednesday morning, April 13th. The fish was brought live to the Crazy Minnow bait and tackle store where it was weighed, measured and kept overnight in a 300 gallon tank. The female musky weighed in at 30 pounds and measured 1/4 inch short of 50″. The fish was missing a piece of its tail, which probably happened early in its life because nothing in Clear Lake messes with a 50″ musky. Robert was fishing in front of the Harborage with 8 pound test line and a 1/32 ounce jig designed for panfish He saw the fish, casted to it and the fish inhaled the bait. Much to his surprise, he was able to fight and land the fish with the help of friends. In five years of operation, this is the largest fish ever photographed at the Crazy Minnow shop.
