Prefishing Red Wing – Gary reports in.

Just got an email from Gary updating me on how pre-fishing is going up at Red Wing. Sounds like he’s had some luck!

Dave Dedecker from Davenport joined me in the Lund Explorer for today’s prefishing at the FLW walleye Tour Western Division event on Pool 3 of the mighty Mississippi River! Neither one of us had ever fished the Saint Croix River which is part of the tournament waters. After a stop at two bait shops, Ike’s in Red Wing and Dean Marshall’s in Hager City, we headed up to Prescott to put the boat in. We fished three-ways at a number of spots with no bites. We did see a couple of smaller fish caught by locals. We started fishing wing dams below Prescott with three-ways and cranks. Dave caught a little Sauger and I got some video. Later, I caught nice one on a Phelps floater with a piece of crawler. There was another tournament boat close by so no video. We got off water around 3:30 and drove back to the Island Campground. Dave is going to join me again tomorrow. I may be able to get in the event as a co-angler with another pro making a decision tomorrow night if he’s entering. I haven’t ruled out my entering as a pro if we have a good tomorrow and a half day of fishing on Wednesday. Either way, it was a beautiful day on the water with Dave. Wish us well tomorrow, WW watchers!!! Spike
