Pink Boats For Hope

kevin and deanHey, walleyewisdom.com watchers! Please check out this news release from our fishing pals, Dean and Kevin, and the great cancer awareness programs they are creating in their “pink boats for hope” campaign. Be sure to say hi to them when you see their “pink” Rangers on the trail this year!!

— Dean Kaminski and Kevin Kerkvliet, the guys from www.PinkBoatsForHope.com, will increase fundraising dollars for breast cancer programs in 2013.  Every dollar raised through the Pledge For Pounds effort will help increase awareness of breast cancer, early detection, and helping those afflicted with the ugly disease.

Using their brightly colored Pink Ranger Boat powered by Evinrude, these guys will be traveling across the country attending the Cabela’s National Walleye Tour, Evinrude/Ranger TESTRIDE events, and other activities supporting the fishing industry.

The Pledge for Pounds Campaign kicked off in 2012 with $2500.00 raised in the Pledge For Pounds Campaign. “Thanks to George Liddle and Janet Parker from Liddle Marketing Company, who worked extremely hard in their tournaments raising dollars in Pledge for Pounds,” stated Dean Kaminski, “we fully expect to blow the target of $5000.00 dollars out of the water in 2013.”

The non-profit partner for Pink Boats for Hope will be Treasured Chests in 2013. Kevin Kerkvliet is working with Kelly Moore in building the Pink Boats For Hope/Treasured Chests partnership.  “Kelly is a very driven and hard working individual.  Her foundation is an effort in love and devotion to raising awareness and helping those afflicted with breast cancer.  It is good karma for us to help her and the Treasured Chests.org foundation.”

To be part of the Pledge For Pounds campaign, please visit www.PinkBoatsForHope.com.  Click on the Pledge for Pounds tab, and make your pledge.  Make it a family event.  Compete against your friends.  For every tournament on the Cabela’s National Walleye Tour, the person that ends up with the highest total pledged, in combination with the pounds caught by the angler, will receive a Temple Fork Outfitter Rod from the Pink Boats for Hope team.

Temple Fork Outfitter Rod Company is a new sponsor for the Pink Boats for Hope anglers. Gary Loomis and the Temple Fork Outfitter team have come up with an extremely well balanced and sensitive set of bait casting and spinning rods to fit all fishing conditions.  “Putting high-quality rods in the hands of potential anglers that otherwise would not have access to this kind of gear is our priority,” stated Gary Loomis.

For those that are the second highest pledge winner, Crazy Ivan from Danlure Jig will put together a package of lures to help anglers catch more fish.  The uniqueness of the Danlure jig comes from the swivel design that gives each bait more freedom to swim around; this makes the bait act more realistic to the fish below.

Updates on pledges and angler schedules will appear at www.PinkBoatsForHope.com. Working together, we can make a difference. Use the Pledge For Pounds Campaign to do your part in a fun and rewarding way to raise dollars and make good things happen.

Kelly Moore, Dean Kaminski, and Kevin Kerkvliet will announce the winners from each Cabela’s NWT event (Red Wing, Minnesota –  April 26-27, Port Clinton, Ohio – June 14-15, Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin – July 26-27 and Devils Lake, North Dakota – September 19-21) after the Cabela’s National Walleye Tour Championship in Devils Lake, North Dakota.
