Mississippi River Fishing Report – Post Spawn Action!

Post spawn walleyes can be hard to catch but that didn’t keep Chris Burns and me from hitting the River at Bellevue Saturday! We fished out of our little Lund we’re leaving at Riverview Campground for the season. Chris had me pull a three-way rig setup–you use a three way swivel with a dropper down to a 2-6 ounce weight and a snell back to one or two floating Rapalas in tandem. We rain about six feet of line back to the first bait then tied the second bait about two feet behind the first. We fished four spots but found all our fish on one of them. We caught eleven total fish, lost several, and ended up with five keepers under the 20-27 inch slot to clean and bring home! Thank you, Chris, for a great day in the water!
