Our friend and client, Larry Stewart, from Martelle, IA, bagged this beauty of a Black Bear on May 31st near Buffalo Narrows, Saskatchewan. Larry was joined on the hunt with his friends, Scott Kirsch, from Anamosa, IA, and Dave Windler, from Lisbon, IA. “Scott and Dave both got their bears on May 30th. We had left Cedar Rapids for the long drive up on Friday, the 28th, and pulled in Lost Trail Outfitters camp on the 29th. The camp is five hours north of Saskatoon. I shot my bear from a ladder stand after seeing five other bears approach the stand,” Larry reported. Larry is submitting his catch to Boone and Crockett because the bear had a “score” of over 21 inches. “We used to go to Ontario for the spring hunt but they stopped the spring hunt back in 1999 and have only a fall hunt now. I spend my fall hunting for Whitetail Deer in Iowa,” Larry added. Congratulations on your successful hunt and for sharing your story with Walleye Wisdom, Larry!
