Lac Seuls Golden Eagle Resort Update

Just got off the phone with Alma and Scott Angove who own the Golden Eagle Resort on the Northwest corner of Ontario’s Lake Lac Seul.  Scott’s report is as follows:  ” Gary, the water is down this year because of lack of snow and the dry spring we’ve had–this should equate to really good fishing!  We’re not as low as in 2005 but they’re controlling the flow of water tightly out of the dam and they’re letting some more water in from northern tributaries.  Unfortunately, all of the resort owners are reporting lower bookings for the 2010 season.  Our opener is May 15th, the same as Minnesota’s, so this may be keeping anglers closer to home.  I’m taking Alma fishing this weekend and will give a fishing report to you early next week.  Also, you can bring in your own store boughten potatoes this year when you come up!  We’ve got the cabin availability and some of the best walleye fishing in the world–please give us a call at 1-866-384-0117–and get up here!”  Thanks, Scott, for the update and good luck on the water this weekend!  Spike
