June 2010 fishing report from Lac Seul

Scott and Alma Angove were nice enough to give me a call and let me know what’s been going on up at Lac Seul these past few weeks. Jigs tipped with minnows have been putting a majority of fish in the boat for walleye anglers through out the past few weeks. Asked what colors have been producing, Scott responded by saying that fire-tiger, clown, cotton candy and blue and white combinations have been working the best. He says that the fish are still shallow and are biting out in front of the islands at around eight to ten feet of water. Slow presentations have been working the best and the troll bite has yet to turn on so using crankbaits is a little premature just yet. He also says that a few fishermen have brought in a couple pike over 40″ already this year so don’t forget to bring your leaders and some heavy tackle. Temperatures have been above average this year and the summer has been dryer than most so packing the insulated bibs and parka might be over-doing things a little.

Scott and Alma always have accommodations available and would be glad to meet you so if you’re interested in some truly world class walleye and northern pike fishing you can give them a call at 1-866-384-0117.
