Greg’s Puget Sound Hallibut

Greg Verfaillie, from Denver, CO sent Walleye Wisdom this picture of a 42 pound halibut caught just two weeks ago out from Port Angelas, WA. Greg was fishing out of his brother Lee’s boat set up with downriggers and designed to go out into the Pacific to catch the big fish. “We had the downrigger ball down about 120 feet. We were using 1 inch chunks of Herring attached to a large circle hook off a 12-18 inch snell,” Greg reported. Greg is heading back up to his vacation home in Washington in a couple weeks with his two sons to go after salmon and promised more pictures and reports! Thanks, Greg, for taking the time to share the good time Lee and you had on the water!
