Goodbye snow and ice….hello, open water fishing! Yes, the snow’s about gone here in Eastern Iowa from the past week’s warmer temps and the light rains. The “itch” to get the boat out of the shed is there and walleye anglers are talking about finding a decent ramp and water to make sure the equipment works and try out some of the new boat “toys”! Plus, it’s almost the beginning of another tournament season in walleye land. Pro, Chris Burns, and I head to Detroit in a few weeks to begin pre-fishing for the first FLW Walleye Tour event of 2010. I’ve been watching the DVD’s and reliving our trip there in 2007. Over the next few weeks, I’ll share my recollections of fishing the Detroit River and my hopes for the season “opener”!! Please check the site often and share any thoughts you may have on what you’d like to hear from me about the coming tournament events.
