Friend and fisherman Richard Seufert shares the following story:
Topi’s mom, Maija, was an exchange student in ’92 to ’93 school year. Our high school was looking for weekend housing since they were having exchange students from all over Central Pennsylvania for a meeting and to meet other students. We said that we could so we met her in March, 1993. We invited her back in May for a weekend and kept in contact with her over the years through letters, then email, and a lot of pictures. She lived in
Oulu, Finland and was married in May, 2003. That fall, we went to Finland to visit her and her husband for a week and saw some of Northern Finland and how real Finns live, not the tourist Finland. Now they have 3 children, 2 boys, 1 girl and Topi is the oldest of them. And that’s not a Fish Story!
