Chris, Dan, and Gary hit the Illinois River early on Tuesday morning to check out spots for bigger Sauger and, maybe, a bonus walleye. Action in the morning was literally one Sauger after another–but most were around 13 inches long. They did connect with a few larger fish with Dan catching a “double” on a newly fashioned rig featuring a heavy jig off a three-way and a snell back to a small floating Rapala. The afternoon bite slowed but they did catch over 30 Sauger, lots of Drum, and one Asian Carp! Dan heads back to Denver Wednesday morning while Chris and Gary continue on the River with their last day of pre-fishing. Thursday is the first tournament day with more Walleye Wisdom reports to follow. Keep watching!
