This picture is from a great afternoon of bluegill fishing on 5/16/2015. The farm pond we fished needs to have multiple gills managed each spring to keep the balance amongst the waters other fish species. A friend and I fished the pond using my Old Town fishing kayaks from about 2-5:30pm putting some really nice ones in the basket. The bull gills were spawning and fairly easy to locate. The classic bobber and a half a crawler worked just fine. We also caught larger fish using small grasshopper plugs, small rapalas, and spinners. Great fun getting pulled around in a kayak by a 11 inch bluegill ! The spawn is on, enjoy the bounty while it lasts!
