Walleye Wisdom reader Dan Walterman sent us these pictures of a recent expedition to Alaska. Here’s what he wrote:
Alright Gary
Here’s some pics for you
First pic is of Patrick hallissey, Brad Peters, Elmer Peters, Brian Peters, and then myself. That was he first day of fishing. Limited out on halibut, yellow eye, and salmon. Also had a few Black Bass in thee.
Second pic is another day of our bigger halibut. Thats Elmer Peters with a 50lb, myself with a 90lb, the Brian and Brad Peters with about 40lbs.Third pic is of my large halibut. 171lbs.
Took about 40 minutes to reel in. Everytime it would get about 50′ from the boat it would do a head jerk and start taking line. Caught it on a white 16oz jig with a strip of salmon on it in 300′ of water.
When: June 2011
Where: Prince of Whales Island AlaskaLet me know if you have any questions or need any more details.
