Reader Brock Renner submits this fishing report from the Crow Wing chain of lakes:
Is was a very nice December 28th afternoon in Northern Minnesota near Park
Rapids. Myself, brother Jeff Renner, his son Alex, exchange student Vali, my
kids Madie, Logan and Nate and also Rick Aho and his son in law Brandon were ice
fishing on one of the Crow Wing Chain lakes and the crappies started biting
around 4:30pm and stopped around 7pm. We had caught well over 100 plus crappies
during that time frame using very small jigs and minnows. We fished about
27-30 foot down using slip bobbers. In total we had about 50 nice keepers between the nine of
us. It was awesome! Best ice fishing I have ever had! My kids loved it!
Thanks,
Brock
