		<description><![CDATA[The ice this winter has been sketchy at best throughout a majority of the state. These unsafe ice conditions have resulted in the postponement or cancellation of many ice fishing tournaments and derby’s across the state. Finally, this past week good safe ice has been forming and fishermen have been out in full force in central Iowa. I just wanted to share two ice fishing events that are being held in February in Story County. (Hopefully, please call to makes sure that the dates don’t get pushed back again) ISU Ice Fishing Tournament 2012 The ISU fishing club is hosting its 6th annual Ice Fishing Tournament February 19th at Hickory Grove Lake. Two-person teams open to the public and all ages Hickory Grove Park at Oriole Ridge Lodge Sunday, February 19, 2012. Registration starts at 7:30am Details: -$30 entry for a two person team ($15 per person) -Early Registration $25 must be received by Thursday, February 9th. If you register early please put the names of both participants and a phone number you can be reached at. 		<description><![CDATA[My good friend and Walleye Wisdom viewer Adam Chester and I made it out last Saturday in hopes of bagging our limits of ducks. With a cold front moving in and temperatures plummeting by almost 20 degrees while we were hunting our hopes were high. We spent the morning hunting from a blind at Chichaqua Bottoms Greenbelt in Polk County. We only witnessed about three birds get shot at this location by other hunters during the morning hours. There wasn’t much of a migration going on and not many ducks flying. In the afternoon we decided to go and try a small farm pond that we have permission to hunt. We managed to jump shoot a drake and a hen mallard and salvage the slow morning. Reports are that Saylorville and the Red Rock area are holding a lot of ducks and geese. The only problem is getting them to decoy. With things starting to freeze up North the best part of the season may be upon us. The Canadians are starting to move big time in the central part of the state as well. So break out the layout blinds and the full body field decoys. Good luck and [...]]]></description>
