Nice pic of sons, Chris and Matt, along with a buddy anchored up jigging some nice Lake Lac Seul walleyes! We’ve been going up there for 20 years now. The past few years we’ve been staying with Alma and Scott Angove at their “Golden Eagle” Resort near Ear Falls, Ontario. We had terrific weather and fishing last year the week in June before Father’s Day. If you like to fish and don’t need a place to stay where they feed you, check out Golden Eagle. Their website is http://www.lacseulsgoldeneagleresort.com. The best pattern we had last year was anchoring just out from the wind blown points and letting the wind move the boat back and forth from the anchor setting. Letting more rope out or pulling rope in allowed us to fish a wide area. The fish were coming from 8 to 12 feet and the “secret” lure was the little foxee jig!! Please don’t tell them I gave you this secret! The walleyes and northern were eatin’ them with vengeance! Check around and see if you and find some foxees for your tackle box. Give Alma or Scott a call at 1-866-384-0117 to check on cabins available for this season. You will enjoy their company and Scott’s help in finding the fish. By the way, they promote catch and release. Gary Speicher, NPAA #128

I think that was at the choke point from a shallower inlet into the deeper, main body of the lake and we were fishing with minnows under slip-bobbers just before sunset.

Thanks for visiting, Mopar! Tell your walleye fishing buds to visit the site and share your stories with us. Mike’s working hard to make this a fun place to visit with real fishing stories and information that can help us all be better anglers/stewards of the resource! Gary Speicher, NPAA #128

Mike, thought that was you in the boat! Man, those slip-bobbers work good, don’t they? One of the best slip bobber anglers is Greg Bohn. He has a very helpful book plus has designed some nice rigs all ready to attach right below your slip bobber. I believe Lindy makes the slip bobber rigs. He’ll tell you one of the key parts of the rig is the red faceted bead right above the hook–the bead catches the light and gives walleye and northern extra incentive to come take a look at your bait! Greg’s book is a great addition to your walleye fishing library! Gary Speicher, NPAA #128
